Security

Alha Airport announces the most recent innovation in the Company’s Security Management System at Malpensa Airport: in order to improve and optimize security in the whole handling system, and in compliance with all local and international rules, Alha Airport has increased the range of services provided by its internal Security team.

Alha Airport’s Security staff has obtained the local government authority’s certification as Guardie Particolari Giurate - Security Guards, and are now enabled to perform security checks, freight surveillance, special escort from/to the aircraft. The security guards, further to the standard security service and in compliance with the Italian Civil Aviation’s rules, can also perform any other additional security service requested by the Carrier.

The security team currently includes 6 authorized guards; other four units are now under training and certification and will soon join the operational team.

All the staff has been recruited amongst qualified cargo specialists, with years of experience in the field of airport cargo handling.

In terms of efficiency of the security process this means:

- increased cargo-awareness of the security guards responsible for the checks

- more efficiency in problem-solving - quicker solution of critical situations

- optimization of the screening process

- increased supervision in the monitored areas, with particular attention for special/high value shipments

- security covering the whole handling process

The security guards are also certified as Local Security Delegates, as per Italian Civil Aviation - ENAC Security Plan, Chapter 3, amendment 6; this means deep awareness on security equipments and on the discrimination of secure/non secure shipments.
